Oficialmente no dia 11 de outubro de 2004 a Rádio RCN entrou no ar, em um ponto comercial no centro da cidade de Aracaju, hoje a Rádio RCN e sinônimo de qualidade, criatividade e liderança absoluta no mundo da web Rádio na América Latina. Com sua plástica produzida na MK Production em Boston/EUA, a emissora leva ao ouvinte o que há de melhor em matéria de produção, comparada apenas com as grandes Rádios FMs no mundo.

RCN - Radio Chat Net

Antigamente, quando não existia Twitter e Facebook, o hit do momento era bate-papo em IRC, a rádio RCN surgiu junto com este movimento, rádio web era o futuro, a democratização da interação imediata, a forma de ouvir o que estava sendo produzido no mundo, salas de Chats conhecidas como mIRC pipocavam pelo planeta, redes de comunicações entre servidores IRC, funcionam como um programa para bate-papo, ao abrir o mIRC, você escolhia um servidor, digitava seu nome, e-mail, nick para depois conectar a um servidor IRC e entrar em um canal de chat, na época existiam vários canais da Rádio RCN, que disponibilizava link direto em seu site, onde os ouvintes interagiam com os locutores e outros ouvintes, depois veio o MSN que também foi usado da mesma forma, na atualidade o Facebook e Twitter fazem o papel dos Chats que alegravam tanto quem conhecia a maravilha que é poder navegar como ter amigos na web. As cores da logo da Rádio RCN – Verde, Vermelho e Azul – representam as cores do RGB.

O Sentido Da Palavra Rádio

Hoje o termo rádio online se tornou algo banal. Qualquer sistema de arquivamento de música na internet se intitula “Rádio”, apenas pelo fato que tocam uma música após a outra. Para a RCN, a palavra “Rádio” tem outro sentido. Sua inspiração para se tornar uma verdadeira Rádio na internet, vem das grandes FMs no mundo. Para a RCN, “Rádio” quer dizer muito mais que só tocar músicas, Rádio tem que ter uma programação atualizada antenada com o mundo, uma plástica produzida especialmente com sua marca, veiculação de jingles e vinhetas feitas com qualidade e criatividade, músicas carimbadas, além de estúdio com uma infra-estrutura que permita a mesma trazer convidados para entrevistas, realizar cobertura de eventos ao vivo e muito mais.
